Information Updates and New Office Help
As the summer selling season fast approaches, we are in the process of updating the contact information, mailing addresses, and shipping addresses on file for each of our customers. You may be receiving a call from us asking about this information, if not, and this information has changed please contact your sales rep to update them of any changes. This is the list we will use when it is time to mail out our new price sheets, catalogs, and any other important information in early Spring time. In order to stay in the loop help us keep all records up to date.
On another note, we hired a new office assistant this week for the South Carolina division. Amy began working with us this week and will be taking over many of the administrative responsibilities in the South Carolina office. I would encourage all of you who deal with the SC office to give Amy a call and introduce yourself so she will be able to put a name with the company information. We would like to welcome Amy to the company and congratulate her on her new position. As always, feel free to give us a shout with any questions you all may have or if we can do anything to be of assistance.

More World Class product
Got another container full of great product yesterday. Evil, wicked, mean and nasty, dead man's voyage, ready to rumble and feel the rush were the main highlights.
Remember never to early to reserve your World Class product.
Hope everyone enjoyed the much needed snow we received over the weekend!

Wholesale fireworks company to help bring jobs, revenue, and highflying fireworks to the state of Michigan
For Immediate Release
(Detroit, MI, Jan. 6, 2012)
If you like highflying and loud-sounding fireworks like Roman candles and bottle rockets, representatives with Jakes Wholesale Fireworks say they have the supply to light up the sky while adding jobs for local citizens, thanks to the passage of bill 4293.
“Companies interested in wholesale fireworks can buy our fireworks to start their retail business this Fourth of July season in Michigan,” said Jared Hicks, Indiana distribution manager for Jakes Wholesale Fireworks.
Gov. Rick Snyder, in December, signed into law, the legalization of previously outlawed fireworks, replacing Michigan’s original law written in 1931.
Under the new law, vendors are now allowed to sell single-shot artillery shells, reloadable artillery shells, bottle rockets, Roman candles, multi-shot repeaters, firecrackers, and more.
“Jakes has the closest fireworks warehouse to Michigan,” said Hicks, whose distribution center is located less than 10 miles from the state of Michigan. “Jakes is especially unique because we sell shipping containers of fireworks from China, all the way to retail fireworks direct to consumer.”
The passage of the bill could prove to have perfect timing.
According to a recent study, conducted by NDP Group, an industry leader in consumer trends, research, and analysis, cities and counties within the United States who allow the sale of firecrackers have not only added jobs, but have also seen a 32 percent increase in annual tax revenue over the past 36 months and is expected to continue an upward spiral through 2020.
“Jakes Fireworks buys direct from China and is able to give great pricing,” Hicks stressed. “We also have our own private label fireworks that are very popular like Excalibur.”
Kimberly Thomas, 34, of Wayne County, who has been unemployed for 17 months, said she’s excited about the possibility of finding work even if it’s a temporary job due to the high demand of newly legalized fireworks.
“I personally love to shoot Roman candles and I know that a large part of the community does to, so it will only bring in more money to an area that really needs it and hopefully a job for me,” Thomas said. “I can’t wait.”

About Us
Jake's Fireworks is a business built on family values. Over sixty years ago, Mimi Marietta founded Jake's Fireworks, Inc. She and her son, Johnnie, sold sparklers and other assorted fireworks on the corner of Lone Star Road and Fourth Street in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Even though Jake's Fireworks and the fireworks industry have gone through great technological advances, Jake's Fireworks still sits on the corner of Lone Star Road and Fourth Street. Johnnie's two sons and grandsons have expanded the business from a small store to a company that currently wholesales throughout the 48 continuous states, Hawaii, Alaska, and several foreign nations.
